Notwithstanding the scorching Ligue 1 season, September 14th, 2025, will actually be a roller coaster Sunday for football lovers. At 01:00 PM (UTC), the fireworks begin with LOSC Lille playing host to Toulouse at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, where Lille would seek to retain their good form and credit for seven unbeaten games at home against a still-wavering side of Toulouse. Later in the evening, attention will swing to Paris, where the defending champions PSG will take on RC Lens at Parc des Princes. With PSG holding a perfect record and Lens eager to find rhythm under new boss Pierre Sage, both clashes promise fireworks.

Paris Saint-Germain goes into this match-up off the back of a fantastic start. Luis Enrique's side has picked up three victories in their first three Ligue 1 matches, scoring goals for fun whilst defending when needed. Here's a breakdown of PSG's matches:

Of course, it's not all perfect. The offensive has been hampered by the injuries to Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué, while Fabián Ruiz's health raises concerns. Fabián Ruiz is also hurt, so there are questions about him. That said, with PSG's squad depth featuring João Neves, Bradley Barcola, Kvaratskhelia, and Gonçalo Ramos, they remain heavy favourites.

Under new coach Pierre Sage, Lens have been learning a new tactical system but show strong strengths without the ball in midfield and lots of counter-attacking threat.

PSG is favoured to dominate possession, with Lens looking to take advantage of the spaces left behind with Thauvin and Saïd in transition. Maybe low-key, but Thomasson and Sangare in central midfield will mean it's difficult for Lens not to disrupt PSG's game.

Even without several of their injury-hit attackers, PSG's squad depth, home advantage and attacking form make them an incredibly strong favourite here. Lens are spirited and well-drilled, but without a consistently fit number 9, it may prove problematic for them to convert the few chances they will have.

Look for PSG’s midfield trio to have a good amount of ball possession, with Neves and Vitinha the players dictating the passing. Lens could pull a goal through Thauvin or Said, but I can’t foresee them keeping PSG quiet over the full 90 minutes.

The historical trend favours Lille, who have had the upper hand against Toulouse in their most recent meetings. They have won four of their last six, whilst Toulouse have only won one of those matches, with the other match being a draw.

This typical history suggests that Lille normally just edges out close contests, whilst goals can often be at a premium.

Lille has been one of the relatively consistent teams at the beginning of this Ligue 1 season. The Dogues have remained unbeaten after three matches, which puts them in an encouraging third place behind Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon. Their 7-1 drubbing of Lorient in their last fixture emphasised their attacking prowess.

Manager Bruno Génésio has preferred a 4-2-3-1 system relying on possession and quick transitions. Lille has a stylistic benefit where they are able to step up attacks and swarm teams, often finding success in the late stages of matches.
